Late last month Kure hitmaker Ishan released a project filled with slaps that put to rest all that chit chat about being a one hit wonder.Titled Bhundu Pop the EP was Ishan's way of moulding pop into African vibes hence the title (bhundu is slang for jungle).On the project he featured creatives like Gze for the poignant December,Tamy Moyo on a love ballad and Nutty O.
However in as much as the album is an easy listen with vibes that make you forget your listening device of choice has a next or pause button it is his feature with Gemma that has repeatedly rang in my head for the past few weeks.Ishan and Gemma Griffiths's love bop is titled One Call Away & it sees the two flexxing their vocal abilities while displaying a sonical chemistry not prevalent on this planet.As the song title suggests two love birds make a pact to be just one call away if the other party ever feels the need or if anything ever goes wrong.You can stream Bhundu Pop on all official platforms
